GENERAL
With regards to these terms and conditions and
the content of this Web site; the names The
School, Huayi Chinese Language School, Step into
China, and Step into China Hawaii should be
considered to be the same entity. While we have
made every attempt to cover any questions and
specific legal issues that may arise, we reserve
the right to amend any part of these terms and
conditions and the content found on this Web
site without prior notice.
COURSES
The terms “course” and “program” are considered
to be the same. At the time of registration, a
deposit equal to 10% of the total course fee is
required. Generally this deposit is
non-refundable; however it may be applied to a
future course within a one year period. If you
present us with a valid reason and cancel your
course with more than two weeks notice, we may
issue a partial or full refund. This refund
will be at the discretion of the school
administration. Payment in full is required
prior to the start of your first class. Once
classes have started, no refunds will be issued.
ACCOMMODATIONS
Once your registration has been accepted and
accommodations have been arranged, a 15% deposit
is required. Because your accommodation is with
an outside source, i.e. hotel, apartment, host
family; once an arrival date is set, there will
be no refunds even if you are simply changing
the arrival date. Payment in full is required
prior to your actually moving into the unit.
APPLICATION AND ACCEPTANCE
The terms application and registration shall be
considered the same. While our general policy
is to accept any applicant who appears to be
qualified and able to learn a foreign language
within a reasonable period of time, we do
reserve the right to refuse an applicant at our
discretion. If you file an application on line,
you should not assume that it is automatically
accepted.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
The School shall be responsible for your Chinese
language program and will supply the necessary
materials for you to get the most out of your
learning experience. With the exception of
accommodation assistance as stated above and
elsewhere in the Web site, you are responsible
for all other requirements. This specifically
includes transportation to and from Qingdao,
applying for and obtaining a valid visa for the
period of study, bringing sufficient funds to
cover your stay, and any other actions
necessary.
UNUSUAL CIRCUMSTANCES
While every attempt will be made for a smooth
and uninterrupted program while attending The
School, there are circumstances that are beyond
the control of The School. In the rare event of
something disrupting your program, The School
will make every effort to keep the event from
effecting your studies, but should this cause an
alteration of the program you’re enrolled in,
The School can not any accept liability for such
disruptions. This specifically includes, but is
not limited to, acts of nature, government
actions, or demonstrations.
CODE OF CONDUCT
Any one attending The School shall, at all
times, conduct themselves as would be expected
in any public or private learning environment.
Particular attention should be given to the fact
that you are in a foreign country. By entering
any country, one is expected to adhere to all
rules, regulations and laws governing that city,
province, country. China is no different, while
in the country and while attending The School,
you will be expected to obey these rules,
regulations, and laws. Additionally, a large
part of your learning experience is the cultural
immersion. You will also be expected to honor
and respect the environment you will be a part
of while in China.
COMPLAINTS
Any complaint you may have should be presented
in writing to anyone acting on behalf of the
school. Any complaint received will be given
immediate attention.
USE OF PHOTOS AND COMMENTS
By contacting and/or actually attending any of
the programs offered by Huayi Chinese Language
School/Step into China, you are assumed to have
given your permission to use any photos/images
of you or comments (verbal or written) made by
you. Such photos/images/comments may be used
for promotional or marketing purposes in any
form and that no claim will be made by you or
anyone acting on your behalf for any further
compensation.
LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY
As described above under unusual circumstances,
The School shall assume no responsibility or
liability for any event that we (The School)
deem as uncontrollable by The School.
SUBJECT TO CHANGE
While every effort has been made to ensure the
contents of this Web site are accurate and up to
date, we reserve the right to make any change to
any of the material contained herein without
prior notification.

the sole owner of this Web site and claim all
rights to the use of this Web site. The
